We praise the Lord for all that He has done.  During our travels we had the privilege of seeing 61 people saved and six people baptized.  Praise the Lord.

On Mon., Aug. 6 I preached at Faith for the Family Baptist Church in Hattiesburg, MS where Bro. Garry Edwards is the pastor.

On Tues., Aug. 7 - Wed., Aug. 8 I was at the Lighthouse Baptist Church in Sumrall, MS where Bro. Daniel Purvis is the pastor.  This was an I.W.W.E. Training Meeting for families who were interested in serving.  It was also a training meeting for missionary evangelists and their families.  Dr. Dave Douglass, the Corley family, Bro. and Mrs. Simmons (who are all a part of the I.W.W.E. team) and many others attended this meeting. While at the hotel I led three people to the Lord.

On Sun., Aug. 12 - Sat., Aug. 18 I had taken this week off to be able to work on the manuals for Asia.  However, this week I suffered my second attack of kidney stones.  I made a second trip to the hospital.  We now faced a total bill of over $7,000.00. Praise the Lord we were able to take the money out of our emergency fund and pay cash, giving us a discount of $3000.00.  Later, I was introduced to a doctor from China that put me on herbs that broke up the stones in three weeks.  Wow, praise the Lord! As I was going back and forth to the hospital I led two people to the Lord.

On Sun., Aug. 19 I preached at the Grace Independent Baptist Church, our home church, where Missionary Paul Perkins is now our new pastor.

On Sun., Aug. 26 - Wed., Aug. 29 I preached at the Rock Hill Independent Baptist Church Bro. Justin Westall is the pastor. During the meeting there were 25 people who were brought by others and 20 people who attended from other churches.  During the meeting there were 18 people who were saved and four people followed the Lord in baptism.

On Sun., Sept. 2 I preached a Day of Revival at the Grace Baptist Church in Cleveland, OK where Bro. Mickey Ellis is the pastor.  During the meeting there were 3 people who were saved, several people visited the church and one lady committed to be baptized.

On Wed., Sept. 5 Mrs. Wells went in to have surgery.  (See PRAISE AND PRAYER for details.)  My father-in-law drove from FL to be with us during this time.  Many people prayed and called through out the day.  All of this was a huge blessing.

On Sun., Sept 9 – Tues., Sept. 11 the boys and I held a Revival at the Fundamental Baptist Church in Alvarado, TX where Dr. Raymond Smith is the pastor.  Rebekah and Sarah, a teenage girl, stayed home to take care of Mrs. Wells.  We had a great meeting at the church as we celebrated Dr. Smith’s 29th anniversary as the pastor.  While out soul winning there were seven saved.  There were many visitors who came to the church.

We cut the meeting short.  On Tues. night after Joshua and I preached.  The boys and I drove all night to Hattiesburg, MS.  Dr. Dean Miller and Dr. C.R. Williams’ family asked me to have a part in Bro. Williams’ funeral.  I was one of Bro. Williams’ assistant pastors for a little over eight years.  I loved him deeply.  Bro. Williams was 84 when he went home to be with the Lord.  He was one of the most devoted personal soul winners that I have ever known.

On Sun., Sept. 16 – Fri., Sept. 21 I flew to preach a Family Revival Conference at the Central Baptist Church in Harlingen, TX where Bro. Matthew Schumacher is the pastor.

There were over 50 visitors who attended, 15 saved and two people were baptized.

On Sun., Sept. 23 – Thurs., Sept. 27 Jonathan and I attended the Soul Winning Clinic at the Longview Baptist Temple in Longview, TX where Dr. Bob Gray is the pastor.

On Sun., Sept. 30 - Wed., Oct. 3 the children and I held a revival meeting at the Calvary Baptist Church in Seminary, MS where Bro. Steve Mackender is the pastor.  This was the best revival we have ever had in this church.  There were around 20 visitors and seven people received the Lord.  It was fantastic to see the members of this church faithfully attending in great number all week and the altars were packed with the Lord doing some amazing things in their hearts and lives.

PRAISE AND PRAYER

Thank you for praying for Mrs. Wells.  She was several hours in surgery.  While in surgery she had a complete hysterectomy, a mass removed and a hernia tied off. She had three surgeries in one.  The doctor expected her hospital stay to be at least three to four days, but she was able to go home after only one night.  It was all because you prayed. The Lord was very kind to us.  Though our bill was $14,804.00; I believe the Lord will work it out.
